Going Places

I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list

Hello, I am David Guzman and this blog is for a global issues course. I am a freshman at Saint Martin's University. I'm originally born in Guam but have been traveling since I was 11. I plan to major in biology and go to medical school right after my 4 years. Why I am taking this course? At first this course was for a GenEd requirement that my advisor said I needed, but then after the first day in the class my viewpoint changed. We discussed everyday problems that will affect ones life dramatically. Global Politics were another topic we discuss and how it will affect everyone's everyday life. For me, I was never politically involved so I always turned my back when asked a political question like "Who are you going to vote for?" So I never answered any of those questions. But after my global issues class yesterday (29 Aug 2016), I felt very intrigued to learn more about our political system and everyday issues the world faces from terrorism to a slight increase in gas prices. So whether it's in the U.S or in a foreign country, everyday issues arise either new or ongoing ones, and each issue relates to our everyday life and will affect how we live each and every single day.
